On Thursday, September 28, 2017, Docucom hosted its third Customer Event with more than 100 invited guests. Participants enjoyed exciting customer presentations and the one-of-a-kind ambiance of Castle Rapperswil for lively discussion. At the same time, we celebrated the 20-year anniversary of the company.
In the welcome remarks, Robert Reichmuth highlighted the features and status of Domtrac 5, which has been actively deployed in production since March 2017. Despite great investment in product development as well as the establishment of a development location in Spain, we were able to increase revenues again by 7% compared to the prior year. This would not have been possible without the trust of our customers and the commitment of our employees and partners – THANK YOU!
In the first «Customer Journey», David Flury, Manager of ECM Services at Helsana Versicherungen AG, focused on the most significant milestones of our joint, successful collaboration over the last 20 years. The theory cited by Bitkom, namely that the OMS area is becoming more dynamic and complex due to digital communication, was confirmed by Mr. Flury on the basis of his own experiences.
The subsequent presentation by Dr. Christian Wieland, Manager of Business Operations at Migros Bank AG, discussed the efficient implementation of Domtrac Finnova, the capable Docucom OMS adapter for the Finnova core banking system. Additional success factors of the project included clear requirements, the high level of coordination between the parties involved, and the standard interface of Domtrac to Swiss Post Solutions as print service provider.
Following an impressive introduction of his company, Marco Camenisch, Manager, Banking Application Management Services and member of the executive team of Inventx AG, gave the podium to Stephan Lüscher to present on «OMS Reloaded». In operation, Domtrac was convincing through enormous improvements in the cycle times of quarterly and annual end processing, as well as complete transparency in post processing. This allows customers to submit A-Mail 20 minutes later, and the status of the documents and processes can be tracked at any time.
Following a brief coffee break in the castle courtyard, Dr. Hans Bärfuss, Founder and CEO of PDF Tools AG, talked about the importance of quality-assured PDF files in the OMS area. The expert, who is well known from his tenure on ISO bodies, presented various levels of validation and potential pitfalls in the area of fonts and colors, that may lead to disruptions in production or additional costs – with the respective corrections!
The next speaker was Robert Reichmuth, who gave an evaluation of the effects of the digital transformation on the OMS area from his perspective. The strategy of Docucom AG towards «information-centric processing» based on this assessment was reflected in the detailed roadmap to the end of 2018 that was presented by Thomas Funke.
As in previous years, the guests gathered in the castle courtyard following the presentations for drinks and finger food. A trio of comedians provided additional entertainment. Guests engaged in lively discussions and shared their experiences in a pleasant atmosphere accompanied by delicious food.

This year's company tour took us to our colleagues in Madrid and from there to Valencia, the city with an average of only 14 rainy days per year.
